Damien Dempsey is no stranger to sea swimming and his love of his native Dublin is etched across his vast songbook catalogue, so it’s little surprise that he felt strongly about plans to build a sewage plant emptying into Dublin Bay, just off Ireland’s Eye near Howth. Environmental experts insist that we need to move towards recycling waste, with its nutrients, into the land to close the loop in the circular system of nature, rather than polluting the seas.
